Spring at Last !

                                                   Spring seems to be here at last.      

Come Closer

 As Spring warms the soil and bulbs begin to appear, they seem to call you to come closer.

You find the bees are happy to collect what they can from bright orange centers, a feast for all winged creatures.

Masses on Blue

Blue Bonnets the TX state flower.

Beautiful on it's own.

Stunning in masses.

Red Everywhere

 While visiting a Birding Center in Bay City TX. I saw this Summer Tanager, my first time for this one.   I was so pleased to be able to get these photos.

There was red flying about everywhere it seemed, this is one of several Cardinals.  I like this photo showing the field of Blue Bonnets behind.

Feeding Frenzy

                                   Red -wing Blackbirds in the Sunflower field, a lovely sight.

                  I could have spent the whole of my day watching them feed on sunflower seeds.

Prickly Poppy

 

                                          On this hillside the yellow Prickly Poppies grow.

 

Every bit as lovely as roses, thorns and all.

Delicate petals allow the light to glow

through to a stunning center.

A Day in a Tree

             Here sits the Lessor Goldfinch Male in the tree outside our door, below is the Female.

                                                 Then the Dove and House Finch.

                                            I don't have to go far to find my feathered friends.
